Childrens Clinic

What started out as a casual conversation about what to do after our daughters went off to college has evolved into The CMEH Foundation.

After our initial medical mission trip to Cambodia in 2009, we set up our own annual trips to the same region working with small medical teams. Our first trip made us aware of the high toll that diabetes and hypertension were having on the adults and their children. With the support and direction of the Kratie Public Health Director we have developed educational programs and brought badly needed medications to this large population of people.

We have learned much from our experiences the broad impact that non-communicable chronic diseases have on whole villages and families. Although these illnesses are one of our main focuses, we still support and treat any child or adult that comes to see us for any concern.

Our focus has broadened over the years to include education. We believe in taking students from the US with us to develop younger generations that help and support others. More recently we are now supporting young Cambodians who wish to enroll in medical and nursing schools.

All these programs are with the goal to leave behind sustainable services to help the people help themselves.

  • The annual trip to Kratie costs $32,000. This includes all supplies, medications, in country travel, translator fees and daily stipend and money for patient transportation. Each team member pays his/her travel costs.
  • Cambodian student sponsorship costs $4000/year per student. We currently are sponsoring one student who is getting a PhD in Social Justice with the goal of starting a domestic violence prevention program to protect the elderly. We would like to add an additional student in 2017.
  • Donations of supplies are always appreciated. We always need more medications for diabetes and hypertension as well as multivitamins and Ibuprophen. Please contact us if you have medications or medical supplies.
